The Israel Field Health Ministries Department serves as a resource for information and counsel on health and temperance affairs; advises the local churches and their departments on health and temperance, and promotes a healthful life-style among church members through literature, programs, and Sabbath services.

The Health Ministries Department promotes the health and well-being of church members and the community at large. It seeks to encourage the quality of life factor that, sadly, is so often missing. Church members are encouraged to adopt a healthy diet and abstain from injurious drugs and alcohol.

This Department also arranges health programs for the community. These include Stop Smoking and Stress Management programs which meet the felt needs of people in all walks of life and often gives them their first introduction to Seventh-day Adventists.

The Israel Field at a national and regional level co-operates with other religious and secular agencies whose aims are similar to our own. This united platform helps to bring about desirable changes in society that enable us to meet our health objectives.

Seventh-day Adventists have always had a holistic approach to health in that we regard the spiritual life as one of the important dimensions of being. In adopting this approach the kehila avoids many of the extremes that are currently popular and derive from philosophies alien to the Bible.

All members are encouraged to participate in the various programs offered and to find that through the programs they are able to invite their family members and friends who might not otherwise be reached.
