The heart of Global Mission is reaching the unreached with hope. God's love compels Global Mission's holistic, compassion-driven outreach to people who have not heard the gospel story. It is a special initiative voted at the 1990 General Conference session.
The Israel Field Global Mission Department focuses specifically on this part of the world where there are only few Adventists.
The Israel Field Global Mission Department supports very strongly all initiatives to contextualize the Bible message to the Jews and Arabs in the Middle East and especially in Israel, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip.
Although it is important to maintain and support existing missions and institutions, this is not the task of Global Mission. Global Mission supports local initiatives for cutting-edge ministry - reaching into unentered areas - and helps involve all church departments and services in this task.
